The riders have returned...

They're back! Hooray! And they had a blast, of course! Josh told me I would have loved it, but it would have driven me crazy, because all the post-riding activities were so spur-of-the-moment and unplanned (I'm kind of a planner, which you probably know! I like to be "mentally preapred" for things!)! Every town they stopped in was closed down and selling everything under the sun! Thay had activities, concerts, food...you name it, they could buy it! I'll have him write in a little more detail when he has time and when he downloads all his pics, but for now, I'll just say that he and his uncle Steve rode a tandem bike-Josh in the rear-the ENTIRE 472 miles of the ride! They rocked it, getting done pretty early every day! And it was AWESOME! I'm so proud of everyone who went with their group!

Here's the two pics I have access to at this moment-I'll make him put some more on later!

5 of the 8 riders in their group with Clarence the Chicken-Josh's Mom, Janie, Josh, Josh's Uncle Steve, Josh's Aunt Brenda and their friend, Edie

A blurry cell phone pic of Josh and Steve about to take off in the early morning hours of 7/21/08!

Abby and I had a blast on our trip, too-very tiring for both of us but VERY fun-I'll write about that soon with pics...We're glad to have Josh back--soooooo glad!

Here we go!

Just a quick post to let you all know that we leave tomorrow for Josh's bike ride across Iowa (RAGBRAI)! Abby and I will stay with Josh's sister, Alison and her family in Cumming, GA for a few days, then start the trip back home, stopping to visit other family members throughout the upstate area before heading home on Wednesday. I had planned to stay until they get back from Iowa on Sunday, but after my doctor's appt last week, where I failed my glucose test, they scheduled me for the fasting glucose test (the LOOOONG one where they practically take half of my blood in 3 hours!) Thursday morning. Rather than wait, I decided to shorten the trip-I'm sure we'll both be ready to come home by then anyway! No worries, people! I had to do the same thing when I was pregnant with Abby and all was well! It's just a PAIN!

I'm hoping to get the baby's room painted that weekend before Josh gets back too, with help from family of course! And this time, it's alllll PINK! With Abby, her room was decorated before I was even pregnant with her, because we were approved to adopt, so we had to go gender-neutral-yellow walls, denim and red bandana fabric, etc! This time I can go totally girly, and i'm going to! I'll post a pic when it's ready!

Anyway, I don't know when and where I will have access to the internet for the next 6 days, so I'll post when I get back!

Hope you all have a great week!

PS-If you're interested in Josh's whereabouts, you can see maps of where they will ride each day at www.ragbrai.com
